Discerning Kairos Seasons (When Your Season Comes) by Apostle Selman

Lift up your hands and give Him all the praise and honor.
We acknowledge and reverence You for how mighty and great You are Lord.
Ask The Lord for an encounter tonight. Let wisdom and direction come speedily.
Thank Him for His presence in this place. Acknowledge Him for His deeds and His mighty works.
Pray that tonight’s Word comes as a seed of faith for the journey ahead, in the name of Jesus Christ!
The House of God is a place of empowerment, where we receive all kinds of spiritual investments that makes us effective as witnesses; it’s a place of direction, and a place where we are sharpened as arrows in God’s quiver.
Our being in God’s presence is not a response to a religious doctrine; it is proof that we love and honour Him.
“I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD. ” – Psalm 122:1 (KJV)
Of the many things that happen when we come into the House of God, are the following:
– The House of God is a place of wisdom.
– The House of God is a place of help.
– The House of God is a place of hope.
– The House of God is a place of direction.
– The House of God is a place of empowerment.
The General Assembly is three days away, and the convention is beyond a Koinonia event. We’re just privileged to host it.
The Convention is a program that will define the move of God not just in Nigeria, but in the whole of Africa.
Many people can attend a destiny-defining Convention, yet all they will have is a memorial of such an event, without potential spiritual results to attest to meeting with The Lord.
Keys To Maximize Your Experience At The General Assembly:
1. Come early: Every aspect of the program was designed with you in mind. In prophetic seasons, chronological timing matters.
2. Participate in every aspect of the service: The Chief Host in the person of The Holy Spirit of every prophetic gathering, is wise. Thus, it will be pride and foolishness to select what part of the service you want to pay attention to.
3. Be open-hearted and malleable towards the ministry of The Word: You can never maximize a prophetic meeting with an arrival-mentality. You must take the posture of a learner.
4. Temporarily suspend the desire for excessive comfort, be willing to make sacrifices with joy: Nobody steps into a prophetic meeting desiring comfort. Such meetings are meetings of encounters. The desire for excessive comfort can rob one of receiving during prophetic gatherings.
5. Deliberately refuse and reject offence: You must make up your mind, as an act of your will, to reject offence.
6. Remain ever thankful and ever joyful.
Generally, Believers can be careless in discerning the flow of spiritual things, in destiny-defining meetings.
Champions in God’s Kingdom are known by their ever-increasing appetite for more.
When a generation becomes overly obsessed with comfort, they miss out on spiritual things.
The wilderness and the cave of adullam are not places of comfort. The palace, which is your destination, is already designed to be a place of comfort, when you arrive there.
Declare: I REJECT OFFENSE!
Tonight’s Word still connects to what God is doing in this prophetic season. The teaching is to show you what to do, when your season has come.
“Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: For the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.”
Psalm 102:13 (KJV)
“Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes. For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side, and shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.”
Luke 19:42-44 (KJV)
The second reason for which Jesus Christ wept in the cited Scripture, is because the people didn’t know the time of their visitation. There are consequences that will come on you and even extend to your children, if you do not know your time and season.
Pointers On The Concept Of Times And Seasons
1. The concept of times and seasons is not a scientific or geographical concept; it was designed by God Himself. But even though God is a God of times and seasons, He does not dwell in time and seasons.
(Genesis 1:14, Genesis 8:22)
2. All human activities upon the earth, happen with the frame of times and seasons. (Ecclesiastics 3:1)
3. Every time we step into defining moments – Kairos moments – there is a grace and an empowerment that follows it.
(Ecclesiastics 3:11)
The Translation Of Time
All through the scriptures, there are different terminologies used to describe time, and two of them are paramount to our discussion tonight:
– CHRONOS: This deals with the sequential passage of time – seconds, minutes, hours, days, decades, etc
(Psalm 102: 13)
– KAIROS: This is concerned with very defining seasons. It means opportuned time and a defining season.
The word “CHRONOS” is a Greek word, and it means the passage of time. When you deal with the sequential passage of time (seconds, minutes, hours, days, decades, etc), it refers to CHRONOS.
“Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come” (Psalm 102:13)
The phrase “for the time” in Psalms 102:13 is “Chronos”
Generally, Kairos moments are not many, nor do they happen regularly in the life of humans. No matter how much you excel in life, if you do not know how to discern a special time (Kairos moments), you will miss out on a lot of things that God is doing.
“Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come” – (Psalm 102:13)
The phrase “for the set time” in Psalms 102:13 refers to “KAIROS”
The word “KAIROS” is a greek word, and it is concerned with very defining seasons.
It means an opportuned time; it also means a defining season.
CHRONOS is the building block for KAIROS.
Declare: My season has come!
Time translates into dispensations, ages, aeons, the chronological passage of events. There are two Hebrew words referencing time, Chronos and Kairos: the passage of hours, minutes, seconds and defining seasons and opportuned time, respectively.
Our lives are separated into Chronos and Kairos and the way we take advantage of each day is what determines how we would step into our Kairos moment. Chronos is a building block to Kairos. Generally, in a person’s lifetime, they may see maybe ten Kairos moments, due to how defining it is.
Every Kairos season comes within it a package that can become for you a system of advantage, if discerned and maximized.
There is beauty, ease and grace that comes with each season.
All prophetic seasons in the life of a people, Believers, nation or territory comes with certain spiritual provisions that can be an advantage, if rightly discerned and maximized .
“Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;”
Ephesians 3:4-5 (KJV)
A key trait the Apostolic captures, is the ability to capture the emphasis of God every season, and demystify it to people.
A major prophetic season is already brewing across the Body of Christ, and there are indicators we can use to discern these shifts.
There are definite parameters that can be used to discern this season. One of the way we can discern times and seasons, is for us to be students of history.
When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.
And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born.
And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet,
And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.
— Matthew 2:3-6 (KJV)
In being students of history, the key to the future is in the books, and embedded in history. Herod’s aides inquired and searched out prophecy by the books.
The move of God doesn’t start with a crowd; rather, it starts with a few people who have the discernment, and those few people usually go through intense persecution, because the formative years of the move of God is very controversial.
The fact that God is moving in a way that He hasn’t moved before, doesn’t mean that’s He’s not the one moving.
If Believers can pay attention to history and are discerning, we’ll realise that what is happening right now in the Body of Christ has been written and has happened aforetime.
God’s move never stops with a generation; it continues progressively through generations and the chronological passage of time. When people capture what God is saying in that season, they become pioneers of the new move of God.
There is a blessing that comes with aligning with the new move of God. Usually, God will place something on you, that will make it difficult for you to be ignored.
There is another move of God in Africa, and to say without bias, Nigeria is positioned as an arrowhead to define the spiritual trajectory of God’s move across the continent.
Some of the lessons learnt from history regarding the move of God are:
- People naturally persecute their saviours
- The formative years of the move of God always starts with few people that are able to discern the writings on the wall.
- The move usually starts somewhat controversial, and starts with a few people, whom others misunderstand them, because they have not experienced something like that.
- Pioneers are usually criticised due to the pecularity of the vision they are called into,
- It’s imperative that we know that the move of God is always trans-generational: mantles are transferred across dispensations.
“And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.”
Acts 9:17 (KJV)
It takes respecting Jesus who you saw and the man whom He sent, to effectively be a witness and fulfil ministry (open your eyes). The role of the people (Ananias) who God has sent, has two roles: To open your eyes, and to fill you with The Holy Spirit.
“And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.”
Mark 10:51 (KJV)
Sight is not the function of healthy eyes alone. Sight is the function of healthy eyes, in the presence of sufficient light.
The encounter Saul (Paul) had with Jesus Christ in Acts 8:1-17 is very instructive to our generation. Even though Saul had encountered Jesus Christ, he was still required to meet Ananias.
There are things you cannot see, until you meet with your Ananias. The coming of Ananias is for two things:
- That you may receive your sight.
- To fill you with The Holy Spirit
Both are requisite for fully becoming a witness and fulfilling destiny.
We should be discerning to recognise the Ananias in our lives, when they come. An “Ananias” may not come in the package we expect, and may not call us the various titles we are known for. But they are needed to jump-start us into ministry
Every time we step into a Kairos (Prophetic) season, we have to embrace two directions: start with Jesus, but maintain a flexibility of recognising “Ananias” when he comes within our reach. It’s a God-man partnership necessary for your lifting.
“And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the LORD is in this place; and I knew it not. And he was afraid, and said, How dreadful is this place! this is none other but the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven.”
Genesis 28:16-17 (KJV)
In this prophetic season, you must always be discerning. Every generation must sustain the capacity to interpret the writing on the wall to the Church. Every generation always has a prophetic writing on the wall.
Genesis 32:22-31 (KJV)
It takes spiritual stamina to watch over your flock by night, because the night season is a time of weariness, when rest seems most needed. Yet the discerning remain awake in the spirit, aligning with what God is doing, even in the quiet hours.
Sadly, it may look like it is night time in the Body of Christ right now – a time of weariness – but we must not slumber, because in the midst of that darkness, something very prophetic is happening and only a few will discern it.
One of the effects of being a pioneer or a firstfruit recipient, is that if you’re not careful, the awareness that many people aren’t aware of insights, may be the reason for your failing.
New things can create fear, because they present patterns that are not usually familiar. You need faith and courage to step in the direction God is leading you.
Life has no guarantees. The alternate spelling of faith in God’s Kingdom is R I S K. There are giants on every mountain waiting to be conquered.
DECLARE: Myself, be strong and of good courage!
Lift your voice and pray in the spirit, challenging the spirit of fear; shake it out of your life, in the name of Jesus Christ!
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.”
— Ephesians 6:10 (KJV)
The assignment of faith is creating possibilities; it is not to make things easy, but to make them doable. Faith is not concerned about bringing ease.
Keys To Maximize Kairos Prophetic Seasons:
1. Discernment: You cannot step into a prophetic season and maximize it, if you’re ignorant of the season. The spirit of discernment is one of the fruits of consistent prayer.
(Hebrews 5:14, Genesis 28:12-17, 32:22-31)
2. Gratitude: Once you discern what God is doing, the next thing you must do, is to express gratitude to God.
3. Faith and courage: New things always create fear because it is usually against the status quo. So, you need faith and courage to step into kairos moments.
(Joshua 1:9)
4. Fight offence: This is one thing the devil pushes to an individual, when seasons are about to change for good. Becoming angry and gaslighted at everything, is the work of a satanic spirit.
(Matthew 11: 3-6)
5. Stay focused: You must beware of success and failure, because they both can become distractions. Visionary people are known for their uncanny level of focus. They don’t have the time to celebrate the same success twice
(Matthew 6: 22)
6. Stay humble: A time will come when you will become very aware of God’s hand on your life, but in that moment, you must be mindful.
(Proverbs 16:18)
7. Use your seasons and the advantage that comes with them, to glorify Jesus Christ, and to be a blessing to your world: Every time you allow seasons pass and all that was exalted in that season was self, then you have wasted that season.
Lift your voice and express your desires to God in this kairos moment, because a portal has been opened for the Body of Christ.
Pray: Father visit me, let there be an encounter, let there be a deposit of Your Spirit on me in this season, let there be a powerful move of God in my spirit, let there be a reverberation of light and power, let there be an awakening, let mantles fall, and let graces be released, in the name of Jesus Christ!
Bible-Faith is vision-dependent. Always ensure you define your expectations with God for this Conference. Doing this positions you to recieve, all through the Conference.
I decree and declare “Be blessed in Jesus’ name”. This week, your head is anointed with fresh oil, and your cup runs over.
Every good thing that is for your profiting, may it follow you this week. It will not wait till Wednesday, beginning from now, it will be here.
Good news will be in your life, in the name of Jesus Christ. And I pray for you, let this be the week you will see the hand of God like you have never seen before. Let this be the week you will hear glad tidings, like you have never heard before.
Let your eyes see righteousness, and your hands will handle it this week. I declare it a week of pleasant surprises. I declare it a week of supernatural encounters, in the name of Jesus.
Every plot by hell to make this week a week of pain and tears and regret, we cancel it now in Jesus’ name.
We speak over those who are traveling from across the globe coming: We declare they are blessed while in the air, they are blessed while on the road, they are blessed at sea. No one will die on their way to this Convention, in the name of Jesus Christ.
We decree and declare by the power of The Holy Spirit: That which God has purposed for us as a ministry, as the body of Christ, as a nation and as a continent, we will receive the package in full in the name of Jesus.
”I say unto you, that likewise, joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.“
Luke 15:7 (KJV)
