The Hearing of Faith (The Power of Right Believing) by Apostle Selman
The Hearing of Faith (The Power of Right Believing) Gal 3:5 || TCN-Lekki || Apostle Selman

In the kingdom, victory depends on the extent to which we understand the subject of faith.
Galatians 3:5-9 KJV, Acts 10:44 KJV
Faith is a fundamental force for victorious living in this kingdom. Hebrews 10:38 KJV
Walking in victory is faith-dependent.
No matter how you intend to win, no matter how you desire to win, no matter how you propose to win, if you do not understand the law of faith alongside the dynamics of making potent faith manifest, then victory will be far from you
Now faith is an equation that has many variables.
Among the many variables that make up the faith equation is the subject of believing.
The subject of believing as one of the variables that completes the faith equation.
Your believing is a vital part of your manifesting faith.
Believing is not all there is to manifesting faith but it is a vital component. It’s a necessary variable in manifesting faith.
If something goes wrong with your believing then you will not be able to manifest Bible faith in a way that produces result.
The interesting thing about believing is that there are various kinds of believing and every kind of believing produces an outcome, but not all of them produce Bible result.
In fact, as you’ll be learning tonight, everybody is really a believer. Even those who fail fail because they believed.
So the subject of being a believer is not just exclusive to those who are of the Christian faith.
Fear is believing. Failure is a product of believing. Weakness is a product of believing. Defeat is a product of believing. Everybody is a believer.
There are various kinds of believing, but not all of them produce Bible faith.
One thing is for sure with believing it always produces an outcome. Provided you believe, it will produce an outcome. But we want to produce outcomes that are consistent with God’s word, God’s desire, God’s intent, victory, and then dominion.
So believing always produces consequences. Believing is based on encounters and believing is also based on access to information. any kind of believing whatsoever. It is impossible to believe until you have an encounter with a person or you have access to an information. No matter how right, no matter how wrong the information.
By saying you believe, you reveal immediately that you have met someone or you have opened up your spirit and your mind to receive an information.
The problem is not really the believing. The problem is the information.
Because you can believe a lie and that lie will produce an outcome. The believing did not fail. What failed was not the believing. It was either the superiority of the information you received or otherwise.
So believing always produces consequences. It does. The outcome of your believing shows whether who or what you believed is the truth. Believing always produces consequences.
The outcome of your believing will now show whether who or what you believe is the truth. That means to know whether you believe the truth would have to wait until we see the outcomes eventually.
All results are based on believing. All results, I’m not just talking of positive results
Mediocrity is based on believing. Weakness is based on believing.
Rejecting Jesus is based on believing. Victory is based on believing. Accessing power is based on believing. Salvation, the new birth experience is based on believing.
Influence is based on believing. Walking in healing and health is based on believing. So all results are based on believing.
All men are believers. It’s just that it’s a generic word that has been used to mean believers in Christ.
Everybody believes in something yourself, Satan, a wrong information, God, anything in between.
The challenge with many believers is not the believing. They are already called believers. The challenge is that the information they have believed is not the truth.
Satan is not afraid of your believing. He’s afraid of what you believe. He wants to be responsible for the information you believe. Because if he can get that information to you, you keep doing the believing, you will lose.
So the real warfare is not in believing. The real warfare is insisting that the information that arrives your life is that which is consistent with the word of God.
But what produces a superior outcome where the real victory is, is your alignment in the spirit to find out, to vet the things that you believe to edit the things that you believe.
So the Bible calls it the hearing of faith. There is believing onto failure. There is believing onto victory. Romans 10:8-10 KJV.
For many of us, you have been believing. The zeal with which you have believed a lie. If only that editing can happen, you will produce victory almost in an instant.
The problem is not lack of zeal. The problem is the content.
So the challenge with many believers is that the information they have believed is not the truth. And so it fails to deliver power. It fails to deliver victory.
And you know why many believers get frustrated? They get frustrated because they actually do the believing.
But the believing can bring results of failure. The believing did not fail. It was programmed. The information you injected into the belief system produced the failure.
Getting the knowledge that makes you win is warfare. That’s where Satan will fight you.
The greatest warfare in your life will be access to truth.
You want to see warfare? Satan will fight anything that shortens your distance to truth because that’s where victory is.
You shall know the truth. If you pray with the truth, you will win. If you speak the truth, you will win. If you believe the truth, you will win. It’s not the praying. It’s not the speaking. It’s not the believing. It’s that the content must be the truth. If it is not the truth, you will only recycle failure.
When God wants to help a man, He shortens the distance between you and light. The distance between you and access to light is a real miracle of mercy.
The greatest demonstration of mercy, second only to salvation, is God shortening the distance between you and truth.
Because when you find the truth and know the truth and believe the truth and respond to the truth based on the authority of the scripture, you will be free.
There is a truth. Your results will tell us the quality of the content you have believed.
You only get Bible results when you believe the truth of God’s word. John 17:17 KJV
Luke 13 KJV, Matthew 4:16-18 KJV, Acts 12:4-7 KJV, Luke 15:8-10 KJV, 1 Peter 2:9 KJV
Our Advantage is that we have access to marvelous light.
Three gifts are given to you immediately at the point of salvation:
- The forgiveness of sin.
- The gift of righteousness.
- Access to the life of God
These three ministries begin your journey to maturity and stature:
- You are introduced to the ministry of the Holy Spirit. John 16:12 KJV
- You are introduced to the ministry of the word. Acts 20:32 KJV
- You are introduced to the ministry of a teaching priest. Jeremiah 3:15 KJV, Acts 8:26-40 KJV
If any of these three fails, you will fail. The moment you get born again, these are the three ministries that begin to journey you to maturity, transformation, empowerment until you become a witness.
So the one who really imparts faith in your life is not just God. It’s not just the Holy Spirit. Is the one who’s been instructed to raise you in righteousness.
You can redefine a man’s spiritual possibilities by the quality of spiritual information you bring. Thank God for access to light, access to truth.
2 Timothy 2:5 KJV
You must know what truth produces what outcomes. That way you can become a blessing.
What is the hearing of faith?
The Bible says the working of miracles comes by the hearing of faith. The hearing of faith defines the entire process that leads to your accessing light from the word, believing the truths therein and receiving results from acting on those truths.
When the Bible talks about the hearing of faith, he’s not just talking about the ear. He’s describing the entire process that leads to your accessing light from the word. You’re believing the truth therein and then your receiving results from acting on those truths. That’s what the Bible calls the hearing of faith.
So it’s it’s the entire process from the arrival of word-based information to your believing and then your obtaining results from that truth by acting upon it. That’s what the Bible calls the hearing of faith.
And in teaching us about the hearing of faith, the Bible tells us to be mindful of two things.
1. What You Hear.
What you hear. In teaching us about the hearing of faith, the Bible cautions us to watch for the things that we hear. Mark 4:23-24 KJV.
It is your responsibility to walk in partnership with the spirit of grace to take heed the things that you hear, the correctness of what you hear, the correctness of the information
- What do you know about victory and who taught you?
- What do you know about Satan and who taught you?
- What do you know about failure and who taught you?
- What do you know about success and who taught you?
- What do you know about wealth and prosperity and who taught you?
- What do you know about not giving up? About hope and who taught you?
- What do you know about the name of Jesus and who taught you?
This is where your victory lies.
Your yesterday has a voice. It is helping you believe something.
Your today has a voice. It is helping you believe something.
Social media has a voice. It is helping you believe something.
- Who told you? Who told you you will never make it?
- Who told you because of your yesterday?
- Who told you because of perhaps your class of degree?
- Question. Who told you? Psalm 62:11 KJV, Psalm 3:5 KJV
- The power of right believing. You must make it a project as proof that you are disinterested in your destiny to begin to rearrange the content of your believing.
- Deuteronomy 28:1:2 KJV.
Someone says, “I choose.” Shout it. Say, “I choose I choose to believe the word of God.” Say, “I choose to exalt the word of God above and beyond every other information.”
Say, “I choose to believe the word of God. I choose to exalt the word of God above and beyond every other information.
Your speaking is supposed to be derived from your conviction. The real key to speaking is an overflow of meditation that you’ve stayed with the word. It swallowed you. It’s consumed you and then you speak. I’m blessed in the city.
The Bible says you are blessed in your going in and blessed in your coming out.
The Bible says he stands behind me as a mighty terrible one. This is this is your believing. This is your believing. This is what I believe. I can fail alone but me and God cannot fail. He’s the winning factor in my life. I can fail as a person. You take God out of my life. This is all that you are see. I don’t amount to much. But when you bring him as part of that equation, no sir, the calculation changes.
There is an energy that believing carries.
Genesis 17:6 KJV.
It’s time for you to shut every other voice that is inconsistent with the word of God. Don’t let some loser, some naysayer, people who are frustrated with their own lives transfer their aggression in prophecy to your destiny. It’s time to take charge of your atmosphere. And if it does not reflect the word of God, respectfully draw away from it.
Everybody say, “I’m favored.” Say it again. Say, “I believe.” I believe.
“Be careful. What you believe matters.” The Bible says, “Thanks be to God, which causes us always to triumph.”
Colossians 3:1 KJV, Isaiah 3:10 KJV, Psalm 37:23 KJV
Even in the midst of your confusion, believe you are still being led.
The moment you believe you are being led, God takes responsibility over your direction.
If this is where God wants you to go and you innocently turn this way, but believing that he led you, he will remove that door and put it here to make sure you don’t fail.
Most of you don’t know how powerful God is. He’s a defender of his integrity.
Before Satan attacks, he studies the word formation in your life. And he looks at the gaps in your spiritual understanding. That becomes how he attacks you. That’s why weapons are fashioned. They are fashioned after your ignorance.
Say, I’m a blessing. I’m a blessing. Say it like you believe it. I’m a blessing. Yes, you are.
We’re talking of settled confidence. You know you are a blessing. You know you are a blessing.
Say it again. I’m a blessing. I am the planting of the Lord. Yes. Psalm 92:14 KJV
And in teaching us about the hearing of faith, the Bible tells us to be mindful of two things.
2. How we hear. Not just what we hear. Luke 8:18 AMP
So the first part of it in the hearing of faith has to do with the correctness of your content.
And then how you hear this talks about your attitude. There is an attitude to receiving the word of God.
The Bible says we receive with meekness, not with arrogance, the engrafted word. James 1:21 KJV
The Bible talks about being careful how you hear, your attitude, your teachability, and then your swiftness to obey. Hebrews 4:1-2 KJV
In describing the soil of man’s heart, the Bible uses four descriptions:
- Torny ground
- Rocky ground
- Wayside
- Then good soil.
- Mark 4:20 KJV
You must know how to learn and receive both vertically and horizontally. It comes from God, but it can also come from men.
Some of us only learn from those who are higher than us because there’s a problem with meekness. And if you only learn from those higher than you, your learning will be very slow because there’s something only those lower than you can see. And there’s something only those lower than you can say.
One of the greatest blockages to the word of God penetrating the hearts of people is dishonor. Never forget this dishonor.
Dishonor can extend from familiarity. It can extend from a know-it-all all mentality. It can extend from a knowing only mentality.
Be careful how you hear. Be careful what you hear. It will produce the hearing of faith. The believing that produces victory.
But I the good news I have for you tonight is that things are changing in the name of Jesus. Things are changing.
You will begin to manifest Bible faith that is not just mental ascent derived but word-based derived from the word.
Your life will be run entirely by the word of God. This becomes the software that builds your convictions, the software, the information upon which you base your life that you move from acting on the word to living by the word.
There are two different realms:
- You can act on the word and get results
- But you can live by the word and make results your natural habitat. Matthew 4:4 KJV.
And I have tasted of this word and I can tell you if the word of God is engaged truthfully, patiently, consistently, it works. Let God be true and let every man be a liar.
2 Corinthians 4:13 KJV.
