The Ministry of Healing (Healing To The Nations) by Apostle Selman
The Ministry of Healing (Healing To The Nations) by Apostle Selman

“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Romans 10:17 (KJV)
We will start tonight’s service with total surrender. Until God touches you, you cannot touch the heart of God.
Lift up your voice and express yourself before your Father and your Maker.
Pray: Father, I surrender everything I have to You – my life, my ambition, my all to You!
Father, we thank You for the privilege to surrender ourselves to You. We’re gathered here again to experience Your glory and Your power.
I pray that tonight’s service will be another layer of encounter, in the name of Jesus Christ!
It is good to be organised in ministry and during a Church service, but it is best to be sensitive. Don’t be so organised that you push God’s presence out
It is of His fullness that we receive, and whatever He doesn’t give, we cannot receive.
There are five channels through which God visits His children:
- The channel of prayer
- The channel of praise and heartfelt worship
- The channel of testimony
- The channel of The Word
- The channel of the corporate anointing and fellowship.
It’s good to be organized and excellent, but it is best to be sensitive.
Every aspect of the service is vital to our edification, not being sensitive can make us miss out on what God is doing.
Every aspect of the service was designed to minister to us.
Everytime God’s Servant prepares for the service, his desire for the people include:
1. Grace and capacity to communicate truths, as God desires.
2. Malleability of the people’s hearts to believe what they are hearing, and the grace to receive.
Tonight, we’ll be learning a dimension of ministry that The Lord Jesus Christ left with us. The Bible is full of documentation of the things that Jesus Christ did.
In learning to be like Jesus Christ and be ambassadors of the Kingdom, we must understand our corporate mandate as Believers.
Scriptures That Reveal Our Corporate Mandate:
1. “There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.” John 1:6-7 (KJV)
2. “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” Acts 1:8 (KJV)
3. “And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.” Acts 4:33 (KJV)
Tonight, we will learn a dimension of ministry that Jesus Christ left with us.
We must understand the scope of our ministry, and whilst we have individual assignments allotted to every man by God, there still is also a corporate mandate (as revealed in John 1:6-7. Acts 1:8. 4:33).
SCRIPTURES FOR TODAY’S SERMON
“And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.”
Matthew 10:1 (KJV)
“The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; to proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; to appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.”
Isaiah 61:1-3 (KJV)
“And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.”
Luke 4:21 (KJV)
“how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.”
Acts 10:38 (KJV)
The one sign that Jesus Christ did after reading the scripture in Isaiah 61: 1-3, that validated that He was anointed to carry out the mandate, was healing.
Jesus Christ came to bear witness. Witness means a validator of a claim. This means that our lives become a witness, living out the finished works of Jesus Christ.
According to the Scriptures, there are four major ways we know God:
1. Through the Scriptures.
2. By studying His names.
3. By studying Jesus Christ.
4. Through experience.
The major assignment why Jesus Christ came to earth was not just to die, His major assignment was to reveal and correct our understanding of God.
Four (4) Ways We Know/Learn God Explained:
1. Through the Scriptures – revelation of God as captured in scriptures.
2. By studying His names – contained within God’s names are His multi-faceted dimensions.
3. Studying The Man, Jesus – Jesus came as the perfect representation of God. Jesus came to redefine our idea of God, breaking the limiting representation people have portrayed, due to their humanity.
4. Experience – There are certain things about God that only experiential knowledge can teach.
There are certain things about God that can only be learnt in pain and disappointment, albeit He never causes the negative situations in the first place.
That’s why the Bible says we are to give thanks in all things.
And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. – 1 Thessalonians 5:23 (KJV)
Man (human) is tripartite in nature. This means that it consists of the spirit, soul and body.
The spirit is hosted in a mortal body. However, without the soulical faculties, the body and the spirit will have no basis for interaction.
Emotions and intellect are not entities; they are psychological faculties that are connected to the spirit through the soul, helping to convey feelings, ideas, and impulses to the body.
SCRIPTURES THAT BUTTRESS HEALING
“And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.” – Exodus 15:26 (KJV)
“Behold, I will bring it health and cure, and I will cure them, and will reveal unto them the abundance of peace and truth.” – Jeremiah 33:6 (KJV)
“For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD; because they called thee an Outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no man seeketh after.” – Jeremiah 30:17 (KJV)
Every aspect of the human (spirit, soul, and body) requires healing.
The healing of the spirit is Salvation.
– The way to bring this healing is a reconnection to the Father and this happens by hearing the Gospel, and accepting the substitutionary sacrifice of Jesus Christ (John 15: 2, 4-5)
The healing of the spirit can also come by the strengthening of the spirit.
– The spirit of the Believer can be weak and God brings this healing by bringing might in your spirit (Ephesians 3: 16). The strategy to receive strength in the spirit is by praying in The Holy Ghost.
“And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:23 (KJV)
The spirit of man is hosted in a mortal body.
Salvation is the healing of man’s spirit. One of the ways the spirit of man is healed, is through the gospel of salvation, which produces regeneration – This is the change of nature, from the nature of sin, to the nature of righteousness.
Every aspect of the human being (spirit, soul, and body) requires healing.
The spirit is healed through the following ways:
1. By salvation.
The healing of the spirit is known as salvation. The way to bring this healing is a reconnection to the Father, and this happens by hearing the Gospel, and accepting the substitutionary sacrifice of Jesus Christ (John 15: 2, 4-5)
2. By the strengthening of the spirit.
The spirit of the Believer can be weak. God brings healing to the spirit by strengthening it with His might (Ephesians 3:16). One key strategy for receiving this strength is praying in the Holy Ghost.
“being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:”
Romans 3:24 (KJV)
Salvation is the healing of the human spirit.
A person receives this healing by hearing the Gospel of salvation and accepting the life of Christ, expressed through a sincere verbal confession of faith.
Salvation is yours when your will aligns with your confession.
It was humanity’s deviation from the presence and will of God that brought about spiritual death, but through salvation, that broken fellowship is restored.
If a person never had the opportunity to hear the preaching of the Gospel and dies, God will use the reference of godliness and righteousness, while the person was alive, as the basis of that person’s judgment.
The healing of the soul is psychological healing (Proverbs 17:22).
Several factors can wound or break the human spirit, including:
• Disappointed expectations
• Rejection
• Betrayal or loss of trust
One reason many counseling sessions produce little or no lasting results is that we often try to counsel individuals who first need the healing of the spirit through salvation.
You will know that you are truly healed when no discussion around your life can stir up painful memories again; only then will you know that you are healed.

Factors that show you need healing in your soul:
1. Lingering pain from the past: If conversations about your life still breed resentment or painful memories, your soul is not yet fully healed.
2. Unforgiveness
3. Resentment
4. Aggression
5. Anger
Declare: I receive healing!
If you want to walk in victory, you have to allow the power of the cross and the power of Jesus Christ to bring you healing.
You do not have to spend a lifetime healing slowly. This is not to downplay the depth of your pain, but to emphasize the power of Jesus Christ to bring complete healing to your soul so that you do not have to wound others as you go through life. (John 4:17-29)
There are wounds that success, money, children, etc cannot heal. For these wounds, the healing ministry of God is necessary to bring true restoration and wholeness.
This world is filled with wounded people in desperate need of healing. There are wounds that success, money, education, qualification, or even relocation cannot heal. For these, the healing ministry is necessary. Among the most painful wounds is the loss of a loved one, a hurt only God’s healing can truly restore.
If you look for an excuse to always stay in that state of emotional death, you’ll find it.
Hatred, rage, and continued disinterest in life are classic traits of a wounded spirit. If you look for an excuse to always stay in that state of emotional death, you’ll find it.
The Six Psychological Needs Of Humans:
- The Need for Security
- Variety
- Significance
- Love and acceptance
- Growth
- Impact and contribution
There are six psychological needs of every human being:
1. The Need for Security
Every person desires security. People build businesses, systems, and institutions around security. Even in the house of God, having a sense of security is essential.
2. The Need for Variety
Human beings naturally crave variety. That is why new things attract attention. Anything different or fresh often sells because people naturally desire variety.
3. The Need for Significance
People want to feel valued and important. They desire to know that their lives matter. Sometimes the desire for significance causes people to react strongly if they feel ignored or disrespected.
4. The Need for Love and Acceptance
Everyone desires to be loved and accepted. Rejection is one of the most painful experiences a person can face.
5. The Need for Growth
Growth is why we celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, and milestones. These moments represent progress and development in life.
6. The Need for Impact and Contribution
Every individual wants to feel that their life makes a difference. When people feel that their actions contribute meaningfully to the world around them, they feel fulfilled and happy.
God is looking for those who will become a bridge, people who, though they have come out of psychological pain and trauma, refuse to let others pass through that same pain.
God is looking for people who will boldly declare: “It Ends With Me!”
Emotional wounds can be transferred, along with the pain and patterns they carry, and this can be both physically and spiritually.
We need to make the decision that hatred and emotional wounds end with us.
Steps To Emotional Healing:
1. Call upon the name of The Lord.
2. Locate Scriptures that bring victory to your soul concerning the areas where you are hurting.
3. Seek godly counsel from mature Believers.
Indices for measuring maturity are:
• Spiritual maturity
• Emotional intelligence
4. Find a cause that is bigger than your pain and invest your life in it.
God is looking for people who will stand as bridges, ensuring that the pain they endured is not passed on to another generation. Believers must rise and insist: “It ends with me”.
Steps to Emotional Healing:
1. Call upon the Name of the Lord
True emotional healing goes beyond human ability; it is a work only God can accomplish.
2. Locate scriptures that speak victory to your soul, on the matter of hurt.
Find and declare Scriptures that bring healing, restoration, and victory to your soul concerning the hurts you carry.
3. Seek Godly Counsel from Mature Believers
Before opening up, ensure the Believer demonstrates:
1. Spiritual maturity – a consistent and growing relationship with God
2. Emotional intelligence – the ability to respond wisely to life and others
Note: Emotional intelligence is often developed through pain. When you allow your pain to teach empathy, it becomes a tool for growth and understanding.
4. Find a cause that is bigger than your pain and invest your life in it.
Channel your energy and focus into a purpose that exceeds your hurt. Serve, bless, and impact others; this is where emotional healing begins to take root.
Healing is truly complete when you can stop someone else from going through the same pain that you went through.
Turning your pain into power and purpose is how healing truly comes. The healing process can never be complete until you become a giver and a blessing to others.
The healing process never finishes until you become a giver and a blessing to others.
Even though you are saved, the Apostle, Deborah, or Joseph (the call of God) within you cannot fully arise until you are healed.
Steps to Emotional Healing:
1. Call upon the Name of the Lord
Bring your pain and hurt before God. Healing at an emotional level is sometimes beyond the scope of doctors or human solutions; there is a depth within the soul that only the power of God can reach.
2. Locate Scriptures
Find scriptures that speak victory to your destiny concerning the issues causing your hurt. Locate scriptures that bring healing to your soul in areas like disappointment, shame, reproach, rejection, delay, and disappointed.
3. Seek Godly Counsel
Seek godly counsel from mature Believers.
The indices for measuring maturity are:
1. Spiritual maturity
2. Emotional intelligence
4. Find a Cause Bigger Than Your Pain
Find a cause that is bigger than your pain and invest your life in it. Serve others, help people, and commit yourself to something meaningful. When your focus shifts from your pain to making a positive impact, emotional healing begins to take place.
Every generation has a tendency to transfer pain to the next, but God is calling forth a generation that is truly healed.
We must obtain grace to go on a retreat, pray, and cry out to God to help us treat people better, and not treat them based on the absence of emotional healing in our lives.
In the name of Jesus Christ, I declare: this is your season of healing! Homes be healed, career men and women be healed, and every unnecessary battle in your life come to an end, in the name of Jesus Christ!
Our world is clouded with hatred and anger, often symptoms of soulical wounds.
When you are not healed, you will fight needless battles.
It is dangerous for a person to be lifted before they are healed, for without healing, they may use their position for revenge instead of good.
When you are not healed, you will fight foolish battles that do not make sense.
Our world is full of angry people. There needs to be a generation that must be healed.
Marriage was not designed to solve every emotional problem; there is a level of fulfillment that comes from knowing Jesus, purpose, good friends, having a good spouse, etc.
Marriage was not designed to solve every emotional problem.
There’s a level of fulfillment that comes from:
1. Salvation and transformation (Knowing Jesus Christ)
2. Fulfilling purpose and assignment
3. Strategic relationships (Having good friends)
4. Acts of generosity
Declare: I receive the grace to work The Scriptures, in Jesus Christ’s Name!
The healing of the body is in two dimensions:
“Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.” (1 Peter 2:24)
1. The corrective or curative dimension
2. The preventive dimension
To experience bodily healing, you must believe the following:
1. It is the will of God for you to be free from sickness and infirmity. (John 10:10, Psalm 103:3)
2. Satan is behind most of the sicknesses and infirmities that plague your body. (Luke 13:16)
3. It takes health and vitality to serve The Lord effectively and live a victorious life.
“Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.” 1 Peter 2:24 (KJV)
The healing of the body is in two dimensions:
1. The Corrective or Curative Dimension
2. The Preventive Dimension
The Keys To Health:
1. Guard your heart with all diligence.
2. Engage the power of faith-filled confessions.
3. Obtain grace to eat right (healthy).
4. Practice fasting.
5. Practice rest.
6. Maintain joy and gladness of heart.
As God lifts us through the socio-economic ladder, the very first area we must upgrade and prioritize is our health.
The Laws Of Healing:
1. Believe it is the will of God for you to be healed.
2. Be willing to receive healing (Acts 3:3-5).
3. There must be a hearing of faith. You must be exposed to the Word of God and what it says concerning your healing.
4. Release your faith by acting upon the Word (Luke 5:24).
5. Provoke healing by creating an atmosphere of worship.
The Keys to Health (Walking in health follows spiritual and practical principles):
1. Guard Your Heart:
Guard your heart with all diligence. Be careful about the information you allow through your eyes and ears. The mind thinks in images. When negative information enters repeatedly, your mind begins to create pictures based on it.
2. Speak Life:
Speak life. Speak victory. Speak healing, use the power of faith-filled declarations.
Even if you feel pain, do not stop declaring The Word of God.
3. Eat Right and Maintain Good Health Practices:
Eating properly and maintaining good health habits are very important.
Pay attention to things like:
• Proper nutrition
• Clean water
• Hygiene
• A healthy environment
Sometimes people spend money on appearances but neglect their health.
4. Practice Fasting:
Many Believers understand the power of fasting. Even when it is difficult, they discipline themselves spiritually. Fasting helps to train the body and strengthen the spirit.
5. Practice Rest:
Be diligent about taking time to rest. God designed the human body to need rest. Many people overwork themselves and neglect rest, but rest is necessary for health and strength. Give your body time to recover. Even Jesus Christ encouraged His disciples to rest for a while.
6. Maintain joy and gladness of heart:
Declare: My joy will never be taken away from me.
In the name of Jesus Christ, I will remain ever joyful.
Make contact with someone and pray that the Spirit of the living God will remove all forms of wounds from the past, bringing complete healing and restoration, in the name of Jesus Christ!
Declare boldly: “There will be no transfer of emotional pain or sickness. Declare that this generation will be healed, in the name of Jesus Christ!
Lift up your voice and pray over yourself, declaring that you are free from jealousy, fear, anger, and every form of negativity, in the name of Jesus Christ!
I pray for you:
Every low esteem and every lie the devil has told you, may those lies leave your mind right now, in the name of Jesus Christ!
Every unhealthy pressure to do things so that you can belong, I bind that influence from your life, in the name of Jesus Christ!
Any way that pride has cheated you and has not allowed you to learn, I declare that the spirit leaves you now, in the name of Jesus Christ!
Anyone you have held in your heart, I declare, let there be a release right now, in the name of Jesus Christ. I release you to go forward, in the name of Jesus Christ!
Lay your hands by faith on any part of your body where you are trusting God for healing, and begin to make declarations of faith.
Prayers for the Sick:
In the name above all names, I decree and declare, from all over the world, that by the same power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead, every discomfort, sickness, or disease plaguing your body, whether caused by demons or natural factors, let its power be broken over your body now!
